Last night in Soho came close to being a really enjoyable film. Setting, theme and pace in the first hour kept me hooked and looking forward to seeing how this thriller would unfurl. Unfortunately the film seemed to lose its way a little with Eloise consistently being chased around by the 'faceless men'.
By the time it got to the final act the reveal was a bit underwhelming. Despite this the earlier scenes showing the symbiosis between Sandy and Eloise were gripping and artistic.

I watched The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo yesterday for the first time and loved it. Naturally my expectations where high for Fincher's new release. It was a let down.
As hard as I tried, I just could not care about this film - from the long internal monologue at the start of the film to the smarmy 'epilogue' at the end it felt so lifeless.

Carl & Yaya a couple, one a model the other an influencer attend a luxury cruise with other super rich guests. The difficulties the guests and the voyage encounter is shown over 3 equal acts. Cinematography is pleasing on the eye with small details of the luxury yacht going a long way and performances by a relatively unknown cast (bar Woody Harrison) where consistently impressive.
Everyone is fair game in this satirical comedic drama. On a basic level it obviously sendsโฆ
