Everything Everywhere All at Once

Everything Everywhere All at Once ★★★½

Felt this deserved another spin because even though my first viewing was in the ideal circumstances (1,200 friendly and boisterous faces in the Ace Theater for the LA premiere), I found myself overwhelmed by the sheer amount of movie barreling down my eyeballs and got lost in the second half. While I followed the thread a bit better this time, I still think the narrative takes a pretty deadly turn with the introduction of the bagel. This time around I understood why we did keep cutting back to Racacoonie, but I still don't understand why you would keep cutting back to Racacoonie! First half is sublime though and many of the emotional beats in the back end still connect because the acting is so superb. Especially Ke Huy Quan. Man has got to win the Oscar for this.
