I love how with every viewing, I am always impressed & appreciative of Wes Anderson & with how his directing & writing blends Comedy, Action, Heist, Drama, Thriller, War, etc all with ease. Every one of these genres works like a charm (Especially the quirky humor, for me). Simply incredible, honestly. The filmmaking & technical aspects are simply breathtaking. Score, Cinematography, Sound editing, production design, makeup, costume design, editing, etc are all great. This film definitely earned its four Oscar wins. The messages are honestly also quite deep. This is especially impressive with how it's done (Story within a story within a story). Which by the way, the story is also pretty darn awesome. In the end, The Grand Budapest Hotel is a magnificent, multi layered, subversive & hybrid film that is one of my favorite films of the 2010's & honestly, ever.
