This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

A wonderful film, mostly held up by Stanfield and Kaluuya. The film begins strong with high energy and this momentum carries it through the first half. It was around this point that I found the pace began to drag a bit.

There were some odd choices with Plemons’ character, especially when we see him detached from Stanfields. There are conversations he has with his boss which appear to be trying to redeem him in some way? I may have misread…

A frustrating (and not in a good way) and predictable script mixed with cliche characters makes this film VERY generic.

That said, I just love a zombie film, and in that sense it’s good fun! Bare in mind that the first 15 minutes are by far and away the best parts of the film, as it slowly peters out from there.

Nice to have a film in this genre with a high budget, fun set pieces and great effects. This helps it go a long way.
