Well it's not the most remarkable animal film ever made but if you like pandas you might dig it. It's cute but forgettable and 90's as Hell, what you see is what you get.

Not an ideal adaptation of the iconic Dr. Seuss book to say the least, as it takes obnoxious liberties that deviate far and away from the whimsical and good-natured tone of the source material.

I hate to admit this, but parts of this movie are admittedly amusing in an ironic sense. I guess it's kind of like Son of the Mask in a way but not quite as abrasive, and the shitty CGI and cringe factor lean more towards embarrassed laughs than dread and misery. I imagine having a leading man like Mike Myers instead of a drunken fraud like Jamie Kennedy also helps a lot.

    Do the Right Thing

    ★★★★★

A slow-burning slice-of-life drama juxtaposing somber, hard-hitting social commentary pertaining to the cultural, generational, and racial divides in society and systemic oppression that persists to this very day, with some humorous, profanity-laden dialogue, while also capturing the spirit and atmosphere of late-80's New York in a very honest and not-sugarcoated way with some slick editing and shot composition at certain points.

It's a story about real people with real problems, drawn into a gradually-escalating and tragic situation that shouldn't be…
