The Worst Person in the World is a movie that can frequently be flashy but never in a way that sacrifices the realness and emotion at its core. When Trier embraces style in the time-stopping scene or the bad trip chapter, the result never feels needlessly overdone but instead engrosses the viewer and provides a richness to the plot. Conversely, in moments of pure dialogue between two individuals, the writing is so raw and resonant without feeling emotionally manipulative. Really loved how the style and substance were well-balanced here and am shocked that Reinsve hasn’t garnered more awards attention because her performance is stunning!!!!
