What a way to kick off my subscription to the Criterion Channel. Stop Making Sense isn’t a concert movie, it’s a fucking spectacle! I was completely blown away from start to finish, this is hands down the best concert film ever made. Had Van Halen done one during their prime, Stop Making Sense would’ve had some sort of competition. I’m not a big fan of Talking Heads, I do like their best songs but David Byrne is an absolute musical genius. When my favorite songs were performed I was pretty pumped but the rest of concert was pretty damn energetic. Obviously if you’re a fan of Talking Heads this is definitely a must watch but even if you’re a casual fan like me or music in general, I would highly recommend checking Stop Making Sense!
