When I saw the first trailer during the summer, I was very interested. I was also surprised that Luca Guadagnino who recently made Call Me By Your Name which was great directed this. I was able to go to the Arclight Hollywood premiere with my friend Robert last night and we were both blown away by how good this was; Robert loved it more than I did.
I am 100% sure that Suspiria is going to polarize audiences, you will either love or hate this because of what goes down. The score by Thom Yorke was haunting and excellent, this is his first score & did such an amazing job; I hope he gets a Best Score nomination at the Oscars. Dakota Johnson was incredible as this was easily her best performance to date. Mia Goth and Tilda Swinton were also amazing as the latter had two other roles. It’s very long at 2hrs 32mins and there were times where I felt the length; I also didn’t like how it ended with an epilogue, it should have ended with the scene prior to it.
Overall, this was everything that I wanted it to be, sure to be the most polarizing movie since mother!. Watch at your own risk and give your soul to the dance!!!
