    Haack ...The King of Techno

Certainly a poorly made doc, which is a shame because Bruce Haack and his work is truly fascinating stuff. Sometimes non-filmmakers make documentaries and their passion for the subject and the story presented overcomes the shoddy craftsmanship. Sadly, this wasn't the case here.

Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles

One of the best documentary mysteries I have ever seen. The filmmaking itself may not be anything that will change your world, but the storytelling! Had me glued to the screen from minute one.

I can't really articulate the impact this film has had on me just yet. I can't immediately recall the last time a film had an impact on me like this. Maybe one never has, up until now, as I've had to wait until I am the age of its protagonist to understand something like the world depicted in the film. I'd dare say it opened doors to emotions I haven't had access to in a long while. For now... a masterpiece.

All I can say is this is a nightmare committed to film. And I'm not saying this to indict the film, but to praise it. I'd heard Come and See bandied about as one of the greatest war films. Now I see that this is true. But you must remember, if you have never seen this film before, that it is, like war, a true nightmare.
