Absolute perfection! The acting, directing, writing, and everything else in between is phenomenal. This film right here is the reason I love movies. The best film of the decade in my opinion, and one of my favorites ever.
This was a very enjoyable deconstruction of the superhero genre. Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson were great, and I really liked how well developed the characters were. The slow burn worked pretty well here, with only a few scenes feeling too slow. The twist, even though I knew it already since I’ve seen Glass, was well executed, although the ending did feel a bit abrupt. This is easily one of M. Night Shyamalan’s better films.
FML Scavenger Hunt 6 Task #17: Watch a film starring an actor from the Twilight series
The Devil All the Time is an interesting drama with one hell of a cast. The entire ensemble is great. Everyone plays their part wonderfully. If I had to pick standouts it would be Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson. The story is an ambitious one, and has some pros and cons. The film tackles a lot. Most of it works, but some of it…
Elle Fanning is one of my favorite actresses, and yet again she was great here. I also liked Stephen Dorff’s performance. Their relationship was the best part of the film. Sofia Coppola’s writing and direction are decent, but sometimes she lingers on a shot for too long. The film can also feel aimless at times, specifically toward the end. Still, it works pretty well for a film with virtually no plot. This is a minor work from Coppola, but still pretty enjoyable.
