Persona ★★★★

Ingmar Bergman's Persona digs deep into its two leads and portrays a delicate nature of the troubled mind. All in artful fashion.

This is an art film, so to speak. The conflict is treated tastefully, with abstract visuals and raw dialogue. The ambiance was rather unnerving. This doesn't have a true destination.

The two leads, Bibbi Anderson and Liv Ullmann, had brilliant, yet opposite performances. Made for a riveting watch.

It's one of the most gorgeous and most beautifully shot films I've ever seen. The editing was brilliant despite being slow moving and oftentimes ambiguous.

NOTE: I can't help but thinking that some inspiration was taken from this film for Robert Eggers's The Lighthouse (2019).
