    ✅What Worked for me
    - Erik and Charles. Casting. Performance. Chemistry. Story. The conflicting ideologies and conversations they had. Everything about them was perfect.

    - I don’t think I’ve ever disliked Rose Byrne in any project and she tends to make everything better.

    - The climax with the Cuba Missle Crisis was great. The plot.

    - Mmmm… Bac-ohn (bonus points if you get this reference).

    - the shooting/camera work/look of the action and scenes

    The realization/effects of the…

The trapped/dormant evil that’s threatening to return or get unleashed is a common trope. Majin Buu, Rita Repulsa, Piccolo, Voldemort, Jafar, Sauron, etc… but I think this is the first time we go into that container that they are trapped in and witness them attempt to break free. And I really enjoyed that twist on the common narrative.

Could it have been better? Sure but nowhere near as bad as I thought it’d be with the reviews…

Another happy accident. I’ve seen this before but didn’t remember how much this centers around motherhood so this turned out to be the perfect movie to watch on Mothers Day.

First thing that must be mentioned is the unstoppable feels this evokes. There’s so much palpable emotion brimming in every scene in this movie and it runs the gamut of the spectrum. Joy, Fear, Disgust, anger, love, sympathy, and sadness are all abundantly accounted for. It makes this already…

    🎩Wilder
I know Chalamet’s great and all, but he’s got a tall task to live up to Gene Wilder’s iconic performance in this. Anybody can do weird things and act crazy but not many can do it with such subtlety. Unlike Johnny Depp, Wilder’s madness feels natural and unscripted. I feel like there’s that temptation to just laugh in a high pitch voice and make weird noises and faces, but in this I feel like it’s all about…

Yo can we get these fuckers some water? The amount of bodily fluids these characters expelled during this 100 minute non-stop action movie could fill most average sized lakes.

I’m exhausted. But in the best way. This definitely lived up to the hype. For the first third when it was just a police raid with guns and getting a scope of what we’re dealing with, my engagement was tepid, but once shit really hit the fan and guns…

Arnold is his usually charming self and has a handful of fun one liners, but Jaime Lee Curtis steals the show for me. I don’t think this movie works as well as it does without her unique brilliance. Her reactions are gold. Her fish out of water moments and points where she has to act being a spy are hilarious and endearing.

I don’t know if this is going to make sense but her ability to act as…

Star Wars Visions S2 is incredible. If you watch any though I recommend this one which is my favorite of the entire series. Love the animation and the most powerful story of them all.

Do yourself a favor and take 15 minutes to watch this.

This short blew me away. Even though it’s not my favorite this season it’s this type of story that represents the epitome of why I love the Visions project by Star Wars. Loved seeing a heavier horror genre influence and really appreciated how bleak, and genuinely sad, but powerful this tale was.

Would love to see Daal’s story in the future.

My favorite Sandler movie has thankfully withstood the test of time after not watching it in at least 7-8 years.

The laughs are not only big but they’re non stop. So many funny characters. So many iconic and memorable scenes and quotes.

The intro intercom with his ex and that entire sequence.
    You’re gonna die clown!
The Zamboni dude singing Endless love
    It’s all in the hips
    “Somebody’s closer!!!”
And Kevin Nealon’s character and speech on energy and circles and carousels.

I could go on all day.

Comedy classic and one of my favorites of the genre.

    💭General Thoughts
I struggled health wise during this so I was having a hard time getting sucked in so I’m hoping rewatches I’ll connect even more than I did initially. Even considering that, I truly loved this and echo the consensus in that this is a perfect trilogy closer and send off for this incredible group of characters and the directors time in the MCU.

This franchise has a very powerful dichotomy that connects with its viewers that has fueled…

Along with many this week, this was my first time seeing any of the OG trilogy movies in the theater and it definitely felt way more special to be able to see it with a near sold-out crowd on Star Wars Day.

I don’t have any friends who are as nerdy as I am for this stuff so just being in a theater surrounded by fellow nerds and seeing people dressed up. I definitely felt the Force…

My heart is a stew of mixed emotions. This was depressing due to the truth of a lot of its themes and lines like “if it’s cheap, they’ll buy it.” It was heart warming in its success of Mija and Okjas beautiful relationship, and incredibly funny in its zany characters.

I went in aiming to watch Gyllenhaal movies in 2023 but I had no idea he was in this, nor how bat shit crazy his character would be…
