Chuckman’s review published on Letterboxd:
For my birthday, we decided to watch Friedkin's highly anticipated adaptation of one of my personal favorites, The Wages of Fear. I have had a very on-off feeling on the ending of the original and was excited to see what Friedkin would do. I am happy to say that for the second time this month, Friedkin has blown my expectations out of the water. He adds a relentless and brutal gloss to an already heart-pounding tale of man and machine vs nature with spectacular expertise. This is hands down the best usage of explosives in any film. Each one is so deliberate and filmed in such beauty it pushes the audience to the brink of a nervous breakdown. Another 5-star blu ray I bought on a hunch, and oh boy am I glad to have it.
