  Did a fairly decent job of being an engaging history of the UFC for someone who had no pre-existing interest in the sport, whilst weaving a broader thesis about the growing popularity of the UFC as a result of, and in many ways an escape from, a feeling of 21st Century sociopolitical ennui that many like me have experienced.
