I think I was a lot harsher on this film my first go around since I’m such a fan of the original.
That being said I really like this film, I love the cold clinical contemporary vibe, it feels like a modern fairy tale wrapped up in a horror aesthetic, I respect how much more in depth this film is compared to the original it’s really hard to compare the two since they only really share name and premise alone. I love the kills, the soundtrack the way the bodies warp and distort. I love the wong kar wai frame rate thing that happens towards the end of the film. Overall this film is extremely confident and well made!
