Even though some of the other episodes had lovecraft influences, this one is actually based on one of hp lovecrafts stories and was quite good, a slow burn psychological cosmic horror story that deals with a lot of lovecrafts themes about madness and other dimensions thtawe can't see and monsters, this is a slow burn horror with lots of gore and scary scenes and apart from the dodgy accents crispen glover and Ben Barnes are good and their scenes together are some of the highlights of the story. It had a nice period setting and the paintings look delightfully macabre and creepy and the ending is messed up and dark.
