Ethan Colburn’s review published on Letterboxd:
Taika Waititi's best?
Hunt for the Wilderpeople is an adorable movie about a foster kid who gets put in a home with an ornery Sam Neill. (everyone's dream?)
This movie has a lot of heart, I loved the relationship between the boy and Sam Neill, especially the way they keep this love-hate relationship going the entire film. I could watch sweeping shots of New Zealand in almost every movie. For a movie I liked this much I have remarkably little to say about it. I just really enjoyed it and hope you watch it as well.
One of three movies my mom has sat through the entirety of with me THIS YEAR! I think that says something.
. . .
Thank you guys so much for embracing me in this Letterboxd community. I am so appreciative of the people I've met on this platform. I'm coming up on my 1,500th movie. If you guys have any suggestions for that milestone, I'm all ears.
