CinemaCollector’s review published on Letterboxd:
Undergoing Bergman’s insane mind with frightening visuals in an uneasy atmosphere reflecting on your past sins. Horrifyingly unsettling watching Max von Sydow and Liv Ullmann experiencing and expressing these events through amazing framework of the shots, score and pure tension storytelling. Slowly revealing the story while mentally draining you. An essential film of Bergman’s. Sadly, this is Ingmar Bergman’s only horror film. I know Bergman could’ve made a horror masterpiece but he never did make a second horror movie.
