Every aspect of this film is perfect, from the production design to the performances by the incredible cast, that needs no introduction. Seeing these legends reunited for what is probably the last time is truly unforgettable. In a year where directors used their films to reflect on past work (Tarantino, Almodóvar...), Scorsese’s one is the most melancholic of them all. This is a beautiful and haunting deconstruction of the gangster myth, and one of the most epic (both in scale and quality) films I’ve ever seen.
