The festival is to take place during the period between 21 October and 30 October, and in the five on-site screens located inside the facility of Busan Cinema Center. Due to the unfortunate circumstances of the epidemic, every film is given only 1 screening by principle except few exceptions. The limit of admittance for indoor theaters would be 50 people, and that for outdoor theater would be 100 people only per screening.

Unlike Toronto, New York, London and many other international film festivals, the committee of BIFF has decided that it would not open virtual theaters whatsoever for this year's festival. It has been said that it is the committee's official stance that the festival would rather be closed than opening up online screenings, even if the epidemic situation somehow worsens in the location venue.
