Easily my favorite of the Saw franchise.
The significant increase in budget compared to the first film is extremely noticeable. Every trap, every death becomes more skin-crawlingly horrible than the last. A domino effect of genuine terror and carnage, accented by characters that are easy to root for or against.
The twist of the first film is iconic but man, the implications of the twist here have always felt higher stakes and heftier to me.
So. Much. Fun.
