Interesting little look at the horrors of fatphobia and the tempting catharsis of revenge by proxy, even if it largely plays out along the predictable modes of Spanish familial melodrama. A welcome splash of gore at the end, though, even though I still feels like it pulls its transgressive punches a bit in its final minutes. Killer sound design and an appropriately anguished lead turn, though.

Cha Cha Real Smooth 2022
Removed from the Sundance hype, it's not nearly the heartfelt revelation I would have expected. *That said*, I do find it unique among the 'white loser learns to grow up with the help of an A-list co-star/producer and a weepy acoustic guitar soundtrack' set by dint of its sheer emotional honesty.
