jordan’s review published on Letterboxd:
i haven’t watched this since it was in theaters 2 years ago, and i just realized that Jordan Peele’s directing style has had such a huge impact on how i’ve directed the few short films i’ve made so far. like, i’ve included so many long takes with a moving camera, so many wide shots with characters actively speaking, and plenty of handheld over-the-shoulder shots in my movies, and i know none of those things are necessarily unique to Get Out or Jordan Peele, but i always loved the way this movie looked and was directed and i think it’s subconsciously had a big effect on me as a director.
i’ve been imitating Jordan Peele in all of my directing efforts. oh man. must be a Jordan thing!
also this movie is still really good and i’m very excited to see Us tomorrow night :)
