man, i don’t think i will ever get sick of the characters in this show. Sam Levinson’s fondness for crafting these long conversations between characters is a style of writing i’ve been in love with forever. i just can’t get enough of it.
i also think it’s fantastic that Hunter Schafer co-wrote this episode as the result is something so, so deeply personal. and that liability needle drop? poetry in motion.
the pharmacy montage scene is so well-crafted and might be one of the happiest, most joyful moments on screen to ever exist

there’s something intrinsically transcendent about every Malick film (that i’ve seen) as he captures and depicts life in its purest form, distilling every ounce of emotion in his characters into the gorgeous natural landscapes of Earth. im usually a hater of narration in films, but the use of it here from Pocahontas, Smith, & Rolfe works wonders to fill the language void between the colonists and the Native Americans.
