It sometimes lulls and feels like any other war film, but to be honest there's nothing this film does wrong. It's simple and kinda plays out like most war films, but I think All Quiet on the Western Front succeeds in telling an effective story, some war films just can't do. Even if it has the tropes of a war film... it's war. War never really changes, and I applaud the film for being fantastic on a production level. The lead is wonderful.
Solid on all fronts.
Ehhhhhhhh when it won score I realized how much I hated this score lol. Totally deserved noms, but I didn't realize how little I cared for this overtime (don't worry it isn't just the oscars this has been coming for a while) (Edit)
