Ran ★★★★★

High 5's

Kurosawa’s Ran maximizes the use of color theory into it’s story. Three brothers of an emperor, each designated a color, creates symbolism for its characters. The first brother starts the fire with yellow sparks, the second brother burns bright red, and the third brother is left in the cold bluish grey ashes. All the while, the father whose robe is a mix of all three colors goes mad as chaos ensues among his children.
