    The Metamorphosis of Birds

    โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

An ode to time. Family. Adolescence. Loss. Growth.

A love song, which is conducted to intricately, that is impossible to not be in awe of.ย

Simply put, one of the most beautiful films that I have ever seen. The journey that you are taken on within this film is so deeply personal, yet is universal. We get to experience the excitement that these people feel, agonize in their grief, endure their hardships. This might be about the directorโ€™s own family, but it could be any family going through this.ย

The Metamorphosis of Birds transcends time, language, and emotion. Itโ€™s a raw experience. Itโ€™s a cleansing experience.

    Climax

Gaspar Noรฉ is a man who is entirely comfortable with his craft. Climax is a culmination of the works that I have seen from him thus far, an explosive cacophony that only he can make. When this is released here in the US, people are going to absolutely hate it. It's going to be one of the most divisive films in recent history, and rightfully so. Here, Noรฉ is at his most unbridled, offering another horrifying glimpse into his nightmares.โ€ฆ

John Carpenterโ€™s score honestly is what makes this film stand out, becuase the rest of it, unfortunately, isnโ€™t memorable in the slightest. I still cannot tell you any of the charactersโ€™ names, or even what happened to them at the beginning of the film. Itโ€™s a pretty forgettable film for a premise that isnโ€™t forgettable at all. Itโ€™s a shame, I was really hoping that this would be one of the better remakes, but alas, here I am, let down again.

    The Northman

Epic in scope and stature, The Northman brings director Robert Eggers to the big screen again, helming a bohemeth of a film, one that likely would be a disaster if it werenโ€™t in able hands. This film is much larger than anything that Eggers has done previously, both in size of locations to the scope of the story. It very easily could get lost in the size of this film, but Iโ€™m so glad that Eggers was still able toโ€ฆ

You're Next proves that horror/thriller films can be stunning with the right people making it.

You're Next is gritty, gory and surprisingly comedic. These elements have been working well together as of late! This film balances everything out and makes sure everything is done at the perfect time.

After watching this again, I actually enjoyed it more! I saw the comedic parts and just saw how amazing the filming was. Those grey tones and brown times are to die for! Hence, You're Next is one of the best horror/thrillers to come out in a long time.

Hitchcock is a master storyteller, and Vertigo is certainly one of his best stories yet.

What makes this film so intriguing is how complex it is. There are so many layers that are slowly revealed that lead to one of the greatest climaxes of all time. Hitchcock's slow burner slowly gives you the information, making you pay extreme attention to what is going on, or else you are going to be lost.
