For the holiday season, I thought it would be nice to watch something that I truly enjoy. I went through all of the holiday films that I have and Carol was the one that seemed most fitting for the holiday season. I wasn't expecting my reaction to be so intense for the film, but then again, Carol is one of my favorite films of all time. Throughout the film, I visibly cried 7 times, the last 10 minutes me crying 3 times. This film struck an emotional cord with me, making me cry many times throughout. Mara's chemistry with Blanchett is magic, their emotions feeling painfully real. This realism caught up with me, causing this film to make me extremely emotional. I do cry often when I watch films, but I've never had this strong of an emotional attachment to a film. Carol never ceases to amaze me, putting me in awe every time I watch it.
