Antonio Banderas deserves the Oscar more than anyone else nominated. most definitely the best work of his expansive career. it’s maddening that this didn’t get nominated for score or production design either, both arguably the best Almodovar has ever worked with. this film puts me at such an ease, a feeling of warmth despite the things in the film often turning out as anything but. i love this film a lot. may the annual oscar marathon begin.
