A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge

    NO SPOILERS:

Another famous horror icon that needs no introduction: Freddy Krueger.
So I’ll keep it short and sweet.

Of course the first “Nightmare on Elm Street” is easily the best, but part 2, for me, really isn’t far behind.
Our lead is much more of a powerful actor than Heather Lagenkamp (I know she was much younger during NMOES 1 but as the sequels progress, her acting is the same or even worse over time, I just never dug her…

    NO SPOILERS:

I don’t think the legendary “Carrie” needs any introduction.
It’s my favorite Stephen King movie adaptation right after “The Shining” (despite if he hates it).

“Carrie” is clear cut and to the point.
With morality as the real horror, and that there are some people that aren’t crap, but, most unfortunately are.
Between the bullies at school, and a nutcase for a mother (that today CPS would’ve intervened ASAP),
She goes ignored… but she’s a force to be reckoned…

    NO SPOILERS:

You know when you have a backlog of movies to watch and you keep putting one off because it looks “meh”?, then you finally get to it and go “why did I put this off until now??”
That was the case here.  Although I saw “Night of the Creeps” who knows how many years ago, it might as well be a new film to me.
    And it’s awesome.

Think of “Encino Man”, “The Evil Dead” and some 80s…

  • Cure

    Cure

    ★★½

    NO SPOILERS:

Every movie I’ve ever reviewed, I bought, and “Cure” is amongst them.
For a Criterion, almost 30 dollar blu-ray- It’s safe to say I’m not very thrilled right now.

*Let me start with: it’s not a BAD movie.  I see the genial camerawork, the coldness to it, the effort put in, etc., so 2 1/2 stars for all of that, credit where it’s due,
but I’m rating it off of my enjoyment level,
    Which was none.
    I tried…
