• I Am Not Lorena

    I Am Not Lorena

I kept waiting for this movie to pick up its pace. This slow-moving movie was a difficult movie to finish. Luckily, I finished it, even though the ending was one that just fizzles out. Movie revolves around a case of mistaken identity. That one note grows boring about 30 minutes in. Final thought: Not a fun movie watching experience.

  • Into the Storm

    Into the Storm

Re-watched this one mainly because I was having a hard time remembering it. This is Twister with more tornadoes. The special effects are good, the story is pretty dumb. Last time I gave it 3.5 stars...without like....I think I will stick with that rating.

  • Into the Deep

    Into the Deep

A girl gets trapped on a boat with another woman and a man. One of those people is a liar and an overall bad person. The other is somebody seeking revenge. Figuring out who is the bad one is actually super easy when you look at the world we currently live in. Maybe it reaches average levels....but not by too much.

  • Call Jane

    Call Jane

This shows one side of the abortion issue. In this one a married woman (Elizabeth Banks) with an unwanted pregnancy lives in a time in America where she can't get a legal abortion and works with a group of suburban women (led by Sigourney Weaver) to find help. Abortion is a very divisive subject. Depending on your side of that argument, will decide if you like this movie. There is a scene in the movie were a group of men…

  • Nell

Nell is Jodie Foster's personal favorite performance in a movie. She earned an Oscar nomination for her efforts. I have to agree that she is very good in the movie. The first 3/4 of the movie are good. The final quarter is not as impressive as it involves a court case. The final courtroom scenes come across as very unbelievable. It feels like a huge section of the movie was edited out, as Foster's character all of a sudden performs a speech that saves the day. Final thought: Great locations, good performances....but far from being great.

  • After Ever Happy

    After Ever Happy

This might be the worst franchise in movie history. It has to be giving Atlas Shrugged a run for the money for the title "worst box office totals for a movie franchise". This is the 4th movie following one of the worst screen couples ever. The 5th and maybe final chapter is coming as well as two prequels. Why why why?

Our couple is back.....and yet again....they fight....they have sex....they fight and break up.....they have sex....they break up again. Repeat.…

  • Monstrous

Hmmmmm this Christina Ricci movie got some very bad reviews. While I did not love this one, I thought it was a decent effort. Fans of Christina Ricci will enjoy it, as she is in almost every single scene of the movie. Regular movie goers will probably be able to figure out the movie well before it comes to a conclusion. Final thought: Good enough to get a slightly better than average review from me.

  • Barbarians

Did not like this one at all. Movie revolves around two couples (only one nice person in that foursome) that get caught up in a home invasion. The type of movie that had me looking at the running time and calculating how much longer until it was over. Final thought: Not an enjoyable movie going experience.

  • Press Play

    Press Play

I am a sucker for time travel movies. I liked this one, but I have to say the time machine device (a mix cassette tape) is one of the weakest in movie history. I would say it is right there with the hot tub in Hot Tube Time Machine...but the later was a comedy while this one is pretty series. Movie never seems to hit high gear, instead it is a pleasant ride but not one of the better time travel movies.

  • Bros

Romantic comedy that is filled with some very uneven humor. The twist, if you can call it that, is that it is two men falling in love. My big issue with the movie is the lack of chemistry between the two leads. I did not buy them as a couple....so a lack of caring revolved around "the will they get to together or not" plot. So, the big question is....am I a bad person for not really liking the movie....I do not think I am....but I can not seeing this one again.

  • Andhadhun

What a nice surprise! I had no idea what this movie was about so experiencing the twist and turns were a blast to watch. I would recommend avoiding any plot summaries and just watch the movie. First half is great, second half not so great.....but this movie felt like I was watching a Guy Ritchie or Quentin Tarantino movie....which is a high compliment from me. Final thought: Worth tracking down and watching!

  • The Devil You Know

    The Devil You Know

This does not have very good reviews. So...the expectations were not too high for it. That being said, I have to say I surprisingly enjoyed the movie. Movie revolves around Omar Epps, his three brothers, his new girlfriend and his mom and dad. I thought his story rang true throughout the movie and I enjoyed the twist and turns of the movie. The weak link would be Michael Ealy's police detective character. His storyline rang false throughout the movie. Including…
