Charlie’s review published on Letterboxd:
Ugetsu is a film that’s regularly sighted as one of the greatest Japanese films to ever exist. It takes place during a horrifying time in Japanese history. Where pirates roam around, the country is at war, the rich look at the poor as their laborers, and the difficulties in finding true happiness. Ugetsu combines elements of terrifying fantasy and the brutal reality. This can be a little slow, but well worth it in the end.
