    The Green Knight

    ★★★★½

The Green Knight is the kind of film you must see in theaters. It is a sprawling epic that needs a big screen to truly take in everything.

Andrew Droz Palermo and David Lowery have crafted a gorgeous film. From the opening scene, we see a gorgeous village, which soon opens up to sprawling mountains and gorgeously lit forests. Fog, Rain, and Snow compliment many of these scenes in a absolutely picturesque manner. Many frames could be paintings. The costumes,…

So I was told it'd be a good idea to wait a couple of weeks after the first one to sort of simulate the time spent apart between the characters in the movie. After how much I enjoyed Before Sunrise, I happily obliged a few friends and followers in an attempt to get the full effect of the movie. The Fog

    ★★★★

The characters aren’t particularly exciting, but everything else about the Fog is a lot of fun. It just oozes charm and atmosphere. Antonio Bay is the perfect setting for a horror movie.  And man, what fantastic opening scene.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

    ★★★½

Shang-Chi does a bit more to stand out from MCU origin stories, but it still can’t help but feeling mostly the same. The fight choreography is what saves the movie for me. That bus fight scene was fantastic.

Watching Toney Leung act circles around everyone was neat.

    The Silence of the Lambs

One of my biggest sins as a horror fan is never having finished Silence of the Lambs. I started it multiple times, but for one reason or another I’ve never seen it all the way through. That finally changed tonight. Honestly, I’m glad I waited. I think I have a greater respect for it now that I’ve seen a lot of horror films. Obviously I would have thought it was great two years ago, but I now that I’ve seen…

Man it seems like with every movie, Pixar one-ups the previous in the animation department. Everything looked stellar, but some of the black and white scenes in the soul world were amazing looking.

I was glad to see that living Joe had a chance to shine, I was worried from the trailers that’d we’d spend most of the time in the soul world, which is thankfully not the case. While it was cool looking, the living world was equally important…
