In the sports world, we have something that's called a "legacy pick" when it comes to inducting someone into the hall of fame. The meaning behind this is that the person being inducted has been so influential to the sport they belong to, they have altered the way the game is played or looked at.
If there was a Cinema Hall of Fame, Persona should be the first legacy pick, because 50% of psychological horror/thriller films would not exist without it.
It truly is a masterclass, a film that has endless interpretation to the point that it's fifty years later and nobody knows what's going on. It is perfect to so many different people in so many different ways. There are people who have written books and professional articles about the many different paths one can take to get to the same conclusion. Pure beauty.
