Rollerball

Rollerball

So there is an infamous night vision set piece in this film that is knives in your eyes but then I read that the scene was reshot because the original scene was supposedly too dark to comprehend. The reshot final sequence feels like a contrived half-try by the cast and crew compelled just to finish the job instead of making it exciting or remotely comprehensible. This is the film in a nutshell. It is Cut. To. Shreds. A nightmare of editing across the board, from the action to the plotting to even the acting and John "Yippee ki yay" McTiernan's direction. It is a shitshow of early 2000s trends blended into a time capsule worth burying until the year 8,006. Remember when Chris Klein was deemed the next Keanu?
