TIFF ‘18 FILM #1
Brady Corbet follows up his ambitious debut for something even more grand, nihilistic, and just as perfect.
Portman turns in her career best (👀) as an egotistical popstar who is justified in all her rage and ignorance due to the overall ignorance of us as a people. It’s so fresh to see something dare to test our idea of what a movie can do with such confidence and respect for the craft.
Pop music and terrorism are prominent and popular because we can’t help but be caught up in all its narcissistic glory.
TIFF has begun.
