Damn this was fucking awesome. I've never taken Leigh Whannel seriously. I mean the guy has two very successful franchises that he's created (Saw and Insidiois) but both of those have long outstayed their welcome and have become more dull and almost unbearable with each entry. However with Upgrade I really see the potential for him to be a great director if he sticks to original ideas and gets out of the torture porn haunted house genres.
On a real note though I was really impressed with this. Very interesting camera work and vibe and ambience. Pulsing synth score. A very believable vision of a future dystopian of increased dependance on technology. Like an action-packed episode of Black Mirror. The hype is real this thing is smart brutal and flies by with never a dull moment. Recommend it for sure
