It follows the standard procedure of most biographical films but Dolemite Is My Name is funny as all hell and Eddie Murphy is back with an hilarious and raunchy performance as Rudy Ray Moore that’s probably a career best. The film is a loving testament to one of the funniest dudes out there and it’s quite apparent that everyone was giving their all.
Dolemite Is My Name isn’t trying to be high art similar what it’s based off of. But if you’re looking for some laughs and an awfully great performance from Eddie Murphy, it’s all here.
