A classic 3 star indie horror movie. The Vigil is a great conceit for trapping someone in a house of horrors with the rich background of religious dogma. It's a bit slow and the final act is a bit underwhelming. It's going for an Insidious astroplane showdown but the budget is too limited to sell the terror of a man walking down the hallway. The best moments are the solid jump scares which don't come off as cheap. The ultimate demon doesn't get enough screen time though. Give me more twisted face man!
