Connor Carey’s review published on Letterboxd:
I can't really say anything about "Lady Bird" that hasn't already been said, this really is a fantastic movie and one of the best directorial debut's and coming of age film we've had in years. Literally everything about this movie is pretty much perfect. Gerwig's direction and especially screenplay are both fantastic, the film balances humor and drama seamlessly, and the performances are top notch across the board. Saoirse Ronan and Laurie Metcalf deliver some of the best performances I've seen all year, I really hope at the very least they get a ton of attention come awards season. The rest of the cast is equally fantastic as well with Tracy Letts being another highlight. This movie just has such a fantastic message and is so damn relatable to pretty much everyone who's struggled in their youth. I have a couple of minor flaws with it but this is very worthy of all the praise it's received.
