Connor Carey’s review published on Letterboxd:
Walked into The Night House without even having seen a trailer for it and it turned out to be one of the best horror films of the year. It's creepy, extremely atmospheric and kept me on edge for the entire duration of its runtime. I've always liked Rebecca Hall but she's on a whole other level here. She sells every second of this and gives the very best performance of her career. David Bruckner's direction is very strong and he knows how to effectively deliver some good scares. Can't wait to see what he does after this. I felt a great unease throughout and that one jump scare everybody's talking about got me pretty good. Still not entirely sure how I feel about the third act or ending but it's been growing on me since I left the theatre and I'm looking forward to discussing it more with others. Really liked this one overall. It flies by and I'm excited to see how this plays on another viewing. Definitely go see this, it deserves your money.
