Scorsese’s masterpiece! I absolutely loved this bizzare, nightmarish and extremely funny film. I really didn’t expect to get this type of film from Scorsese. The neon lit streets of NYC looked incredible and the script was amazing. My most entertaining first watch in a while!

The Cremator 1969
Spine chilling and got so much darker than I expected it to get. It’s a descent into madness kind of film but here the main character starts off pretty insane from the get go. It even had bits of comedy now and then but there definitely wasn’t much humour towards the end. The lead performance here was amazing and really helped in making the film creepy plus it felt like he had a lot of lines for a relatively short…

Napoleon 2023
This wasn’t without its flaws but I thought it was an engaging and interesting film with solid lead performances. The battle scenes were great and I actually appreciate the fact that Scott just made a big budget Napoleon film the way he wanted. It could’ve done with being longer, it sort of skimmed through parts of Napoleon’s life that should’ve been given more attention. I also wasn’t a fan of much of the film visually with it mostly looking dull and unappealing.

Decision to Leave 2022
Pretty much a flawless film in my eyes and for now my favourite PCW film (it’s always changing lol). It combines both a great mystery and romance whilst also being funny and visually appealing. I also can’t think of any film that has better transitions than this one.

The Killer 2023
I thought this was quite an interesting film. It looks at the life and thoughts of an assassin in a pretty realistic way which was really helped by it’s narration. For a Fincher film it felt simple which isn’t necessarily a bad thing and it had a good amount of suspenseful moments. The plot reminded me of something you’d see in a random Barry episode though this film was certainly more serious with less comedy. Also can’t complain about a soundtrack that’s 90% The Smiths.

Oppenheimer 2023
1000th Film (I need to get a life)
From a technical point of view this was immaculate. Maybe it’s because it was my first ever IMAX screening (my nearest cinema built an IMAX screen for the release of this film which is pretty crazy) but this was on another level both visually and sonically. I’ve been avoiding any information about Oppenheimer since I heard this was being made so I found the whole story pretty fascinating and up until the…
