Conor Herbert’s review published on Letterboxd:
I'm certainly not anti-Waititi, and I love 'Hunt for the Wilderpeople' far more than 'Ragnarok,' so I was slightly optimistic going into something that seemed a whole lot freer than a Marvel tentpole.
It's well made, sure, and the set dressing + costuming is terrific, and whilst a lot of the comedy lands alright, I just can't get around the softness of the satire and the empty platitudes it preaches. I dunno, I guess I just hoped that this one would come down to more than a vague affirmation of 'the power of love.'
Pulled punches here, really.
