I honestly feel like I could have watched this forever. The dreamlike haziness is just my jam and the actresses play into the intoxication perfectly.
Spacek does doe-eyed better than anyone and Duvall is as idiosyncratic as ever, making for one of her more successful Altman collabs. They combine for a bizarre but bewitching cocktail of genres that left me light-headed.
Find it quite mad how good this is yet I would still be hesitant to call it my favourite Altman (I'd rank Nashville and maybe The Player above it but this is nipping at their heels; Could easily see a re-watch pushing this over the edge). Makes it hard to deny he's truly one of the greats.
