    It's Such a Beautiful Day

This film will always mean the world to me. The routine and mundane spiraling into massive and often ridiculous existential questions. The feeling of time literally slipping away as the film jitters and cuts like its quickly deteriorating and morphing. A film that seems to answer the big question of life by not giving an answer. Mostly held up by Tom Hardy's performance which is consistently brilliant. But I am a bit sad that it held up what could have been an engaging chamber piece thriller is a bit dry. The dialogue itself isn't particularly notable and the framing and editing doesn't really make its setting all that cinematically engaging. In fact, this could have worked pretty well as a teleplay (except for Hardy's brilliant physical performing). I enjoy the idea, a tense thriller in a minimalist setting, but there isn't enough there to make it captivating.

Not since Guardians: Vol 2 has a superhero film been so loving and sincere. Rather than going beat for beat like what the Spiderman series has set up in the past, its a complete deconstruction but not to parody itself, but to show what it makes it truly special in…
