Prompted to rewatch this after seeing a clip of Scorsese talking about its influence on Goodfellas. I'd forgotten how brutal it is!
I can guarantee you will always, always have a good time if you are watching Vincent Price and this is no exception (look out for his wine-tasting faces because I still haven't recovered). And you've got Peter Lorre into the bargain! Doing his magnificent awful/creepy/hilarious combo. A delicious Richard Matheson script lifts this even further.
Overall a really good fun, solid Poe/Corman trilogy - with a surprisingly gruesome end!
Why am I wasting my time watching any film that does not have Jean Arthur in it?

She has such a talent for comedy, both physically and in her delivery, and I love everything about her.
