Cole Duffy’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is for those among us who have had forbidden desires. For those of us who have been restricted, closeted, and taught to hate ourselves for having those desires. For those of us who either indulged in those burning urges and wanted more of it, or let the chance slip by, leaving us with our regrets.
I didn’t cry during Portrait of a Lady on Fire. Not at first. It wasn’t until later that I started sobbing. And my heart still hurts.
