If you look at Billy Wilder’s filmography it’s full of classics but this is a true standout for me. You can ask any film buff and they will tell you this one of the best film noir’s of the era. I truly think this is the quintessential femme fatale film and I think Barbara plays her part to perfection. Fred fits his role well because he is exactly the kind of guy you want narrating the events of the plot.
However, I do have to give a big shoutout to Edward G. Robinson he was amazing as Barton Keyes. He is a great dramatic actor but he’s also funny and he can turn it on when the moment calls for it when the melodrama gets too stuffy. To anybody that sees this review just add this to your watchlist you won’t regret it.
