The Black Phone 2021
not really a surprise that I loved this because it's basically the same team behind Sinister. some plot holes for me in the third act but I still really enjoyed it.

I used to not understand how the hell Todd Phillips went from making bro comedies like this to Joker, but now having seen this I feel like he is just an embodiment of complete cynicism and disdain for the human race because everyone in his movies are horrible people. I wonder if him and Todd Solondz are friends!

what the fuck was that? kinda feelin like the director just made this movie on a dare. the tone’s all over the place and the pacing is insane…it’s an extremely boring movie but there are a handful of hysterical moments that are so hilarious I may almost recommend watching it. MacKay is impressively committed to the role but unfortunately that can’t save the film overall.

Summering 2022
Sundance #8: wow people are being absolutely relentless to this movie hahahaha, I thought it was actually pretty good. I’ll admit I was much more into the vibes this movie gives as opposed to the actual story, but damnit I love a movie about summer adolescence that makes me feel like a kid again okay sue me! the score does a lot of the heavy lifting…my GOD I can’t wait until it’s on spotify.
