2023 just started and I don’t see any other horror film coming close to something like this for the rest of the year.
It felt like a nightmare. The darkness moves and swirls, letting your imagination try make out what’s lurking. The lack of movement and sound only made it more impactful when the camera did move and the sound burst from the grainy white noise.

This movie was stupid as fuck. It took them an hour and a half to figure out that the power of friendship would beat the bad guy.
There is literally a line at the end where Hobbs turns to Shaw and says “We can beat him if we both work together.” I felt like I was watching a goddamn power ranger episode.
The stunts and action were fun for what it’s worth. Hobbs and Shaw is enjoyable, even more so with your brain switched off and after a beer or four.
I was so, so, so excited for this when I saw the ending of Split, and the announcement of this. It was huge surprise.
Too bad this movie was a huge letdown. Granted it didn’t get everything wrong, but it did get almost everything wrong.
